
The Diploma of Information Technology (General) provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of ICT fields at Diploma level. It is a broad and flexible qualification with multiple internal pathways. This qualification is designed to be very flexible with a wide selection of unit choices and options. It is intended that the Diploma of Information Technology (General) provides those skills and knowledge required by an individual to operate effectively in high level ICT technical support roles within organisations.

We suggest that you complete the ICA20105 Certificate III in Information Technology before undertaking this qualification, which will provide you with the fundamentals of ICT knowledge and skills required for qualifications at Certificate III in Information Technology and above. The 9 core competencies found within the Certificate I and II in Information Technology are a pre-requisite of the Certificate III in Information Technology. Alternatively, these 9 core competencies may be incorporated free of charge into the certificate of your choice.
