The Certificate II in Information Technology provides further foundation skills for those who are entering various areas of the information technology industry. As a progression from Certificate I in Information Technology, it covers the basic setting up and use of computing equipment and a range of applications software selected from word processing, spreadsheet, database, business graphics and illustrative graphics.

This qualification provides fundamental skills and knowledge for you to confidently operate computer equipment and computing packages. It incorporates tasks such as connecting various hardware and software applications, and running standard diagnostic tests while working in an IT environment.

It is possible to achieve the Certificate II in Information Technology during the final years of secondary school education subject to the demonstration of competency to a standard expected in the workplace.
