This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation
of an approved learning framework and support children’s wellbeing, learning, and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification may include early childhood educators and assistants, family day care workers, nanny, playgroup supervisors.

Entry Requirements

There are no mandatory entry requirements for any CHC Community Services Training Package qualifications.

Vocational Placement

This course requires completion of 120 hours of mandatory Vocational Placement with a provider. This placement will:

  • support transition to the workplace and expectations of performance in the workforce
  • assist you in developing skills and application of knowledge within the workplace, promoting stronger embedding of learning
  • provide exposure to real workplace situations and circumstances which cannot be replicated in a learning environment or simulation.

    Anyone has the opportunity to undertake this course through workplace or distance education.

CHC30113 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This course can be completed in 12 months (based on a full-time workload) or up to 24 months through a traineeship. It requires the successful completion of eighteen (18) units consisting of fifteen (15) core units and three (3) electives.
