Become An Early Childhood Professional Educator

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so, they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

Career Outcomes:

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification may include authorised supervisor, children’s services coordinator, centre manager, director, childhood educator, group/
team coordinator/leader, children’s adviser, program leader, child development worker, early childhood educator.

Entry Requirements

There are no mandatory entry requirements for any CHC Community Services Training
Package qualifications. You must hold a current Working with Children Check.

Vocational Placement

This course requires completion of 240 hours of mandatory Vocational Placement with a provider. This placement will:

  • support transition to the workplace and expectations of performance in the workforce
  • assist you in developing skills and application of knowledge within the workplace, promoting stronger embedding of learning
  • provide exposure to real workplace situations and circumstances which cannot be replicated in a learning environment or simulation.

    We are able to deliver this course as a traineeship in the workplace or via distance education
  • Fee For Service
    Anyone has the opportunity to undertake this course through workplace or distance education.
  • Certificate 3 Guarantee Program
    Only available to Queensland residents and subject to eligibility. Face-to-face or distance education.

CHC50113 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This course can be completed in 18 months (based on a full-time workload) or up to 36 months through an apprenticeship. It requires the
successful completion of twenty-eight (28) units consisting of twenty-three (23) core units and five (5) electives.
